December 2021, Berj turns 25 years old!

For 25 years Berj Art Gallery has been home to Ghana’s leading artists, showcasing their paintings and  sculptures. This page serves the purpose of thanking all artists, patrons, customers, clients, family and friends who have been part of this journey and dream. In 1982, following an introduction to three of Ghana’s fine artists of the time – Messrs. A. O. Bartimeus, Amon-kwafo and Reggie Quao – Joyce Quarshie began accumulating an impressive collection of art pieces. In 1984, she spent 10 years in Nigeria, where she successfully promoted Ghanaian art. Acting upon her strong commitment to promote the arts, in 1996 she founded Berj Art Gallery in Accra. Berj Art Gallery sets out to provide the public with discerning selection of the best Ghanaian contemporary art and specializes in professional framing. Berj is proud to be hosting a 25 year anniversary this December to celebrate this journey and the remarkable artists that have been a part of this journey. To commemorate this, we present to you our catalogue “The heARTfelt and Inseparable: A Joyce Quarshie Collection”.
